Suggested Mother/Son dance songs for a wedding reception from a Columbus DJ

Having worked with many couples, I have observed that one of the most challenging decisions centers around choosing a song for the Mother-Son dance. There are not as many options as there are for the Father-Daughter dance and secondly, choosing a song containing the lyrics that describe the bond between mother & son is important.

Making the decision. Believe it or not, the wedding day is an emotionally charged day for the mother of the groom and the song she will dance to with her son is significant to her. I typically suggest to the groom that he approach his mother and ask her what song she would like to dance to. This gives her buy in and is another way for the groom to share with his mother how much she means to him and how much she has influenced his life.

Listen to the lyrics carefully; making sure they represent the bond between a mother and her son as opposed to the love between the bride and her groom.

The suggested songs below are time-tested and contain appropriate lyrics and themes.  Feel free to respond with your favorites and/or offer suggestions if not on the list.
